رونے سے اور عشق میں بے باک ہو گئے
دھوئے گئے ہم اتنے کہ بس پاک ہو گئے
रोने से और इश्क़ में बेबाक हो गए
धोए गए हम इतने कि बस पाक हो गए

Meaning
Cying in love has made me fearless
I have been washed so much that I have become pure
Explanation/Comment:
The pain and suffering of love have made Ghalib fearless. Often, people give up on their love due to lack of success and the suffering involved. But, with Ghalib it’s the opposite. The greater the crying, the greater his resolve to persist.
This fortitude can apply as much to love of a beloved as to love of a cause. The greater the suffering, the greater should be one’s fearlessness to push ahead.
The incessant crying, rather than deterring Ghalib, has purified him. The allegory of tears that can wash and purify should not be missed here. Not only is he no longer afraid, he has became more purely devoted to his beloved.
The resilience and resolve of the poet in the face of incessant adversity and failure is simply remarkable.
If such were to be one’s love, for a person or a cause, such love achieves the pinnacle of glory and the height of purity. So does the person who professes it.
